Membership Structure
The Association has four levels of membership, Student, Associate, Full Member and Fellow. These are outlined below:
Student
Individuals who are studying a course at college, on-line, or by distance learning and who wish to join the Association but do not have the required entry qualifications for membership can apply to join as Registered Students and take the Association’s examinations.
Associate Member
Membership at this level will require knowledge and skills which will allow the member to demonstrate a working knowledge of the most appropriate software currently in use. Application can be made to become an Associate Member on completion of the Association’s Level II Certificate qualification or equivalent. Associate Members are entitled to use the initials ACITP after their name.
Member
Membership at this level will require a level of knowledge and experience in advanced software usage. Application can be made to become a Member on completion of the Association’s Diploma level qualification or equivalent. Members are entitled to use the designation ‘Certified IT Professional’ appropriate to the area in which their membership has been awarded. Members are entitled to use the initials MCITP after their name.
Fellow
A person who has been a Full Member for a minimum of two years and who is able, additionally, to demonstrate a minimum of two years practical relevant IT experience may apply to become a Fellow of the Association. Fellows are entitled to use the initials FCITP after their name.
